2009 – AEP Update
The end of 2008 saw the end of AEP Phase II. The west part of the wing was opened in time for the holiday travel rush, to the delight of both the passengers and the airlines.
The new wing is an extension of the terminal; the finishes are similar, it is as open and bright as the rest of the building, and the views are wonderful! The use of the reclaimed wood from the WW II Hangars brings a warmth and comfort to the space and adds a perfect decorative touch, while paying tribute to the history of the airport.
Customers are particularly happy that there are many stations where they can plug in laptops and other devices while waiting for their flights. Or, they can enjoy the fare at D’Arcy McGee’s while they catch the latest sports highlights.
As was the case with Phase I, the project was completed on-budget.
Have a look at some of the pictures which tell a better story.
